WHAT IS THE JOB AND ROLE OF THE SELECT BOARD?

The Select Board’s role and duty is to serve as the elected body charged with providing fiduciary and operational guidance while setting policy and strategic direction for the best interest of the town.

The Board recommends an annual budget, appoints town residents to serve on the various boards, reviews, and recommends town ordinances to be voted on at the town meeting. 

The Board serves as a liaison for the concerns of Kennebunkport residents while also being willing to answer, explain, and educate residents as to how and why decisions are made. 

The goal is to strive to engage the community in the workings and operations of the town government.
